Your Data Rights

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), California residents have the following rights regarding their personal information:

  • Right to Know: You have the right to request that we disclose what personal information we collect, use, disclose, and sell about you. This includes the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected, the categories of sources from which the information was collected, the business or commercial purpose for collecting or selling the information, and the categories of third parties with whom we share the information.
  • Right to Delete: You have the right to request that we delete any personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain exceptions. We may deny your deletion request if retaining the information is necessary for us or our service providers to complete a transaction, detect security incidents, comply with legal obligations, or engage in other uses permitted by law.
  • Right to Opt-Out: You have the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information. Zaghi & Chrzan, LLP does not sell your personal information. If this practice changes, we will provide a clear mechanism for you to opt out.
  • Right to Non-Discrimination: You have the right not to receive discriminatory treatment for exercising any of your CCPA privacy rights. We will not deny you services, charge you different prices, provide a different level of service, or suggest that you may receive a different price or level of service for exercising your rights.

How to Submit a Request

You may submit a Data Subject Access Request through any of the following methods:

By Email

Send your request to our office via email. Please include your full name, the email address associated with any interactions with our firm, and a description of the specific right(s) you wish to exercise.

By Phone

Submit Your Request

Please provide the following information so we can process your data subject access request. All fields marked with an asterisk (*) are required.

Verification Process

To protect your privacy and security, we are required to verify your identity before we can process your request. The verification process may include:

  • Matching the information you provide in your request with information we already have on file
  • Requesting additional documentation to confirm your identity, such as a government-issued ID
  • Asking you to confirm your identity through a verification email or phone call

The level of verification required will depend on the type of request you submit and the sensitivity of the information involved. Requests to know specific pieces of personal information or requests to delete personal information will require a higher degree of verification.

Response Timeline

Under the CCPA, we are required to respond to your verifiable consumer request within 45 calendar days of receiving it. If we need additional time to process your request, we will notify you of the extension and the reason for it. In total, we may take up to 90 days to respond to your request if an extension is necessary.

We will deliver our response in writing, either by mail or electronically, at your option. If we are unable to fulfill your request, we will explain the reason in our response.

Authorized Agents

You may designate an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf. To do so, the authorized agent must provide:

  • Written permission signed by you authorizing the agent to act on your behalf
  • Proof of the agent's identity
  • In some cases, we may also require you to verify your own identity directly with us and confirm that you provided the agent with permission to submit the request

If you are an authorized agent submitting a request on behalf of a California consumer, please include the signed authorization with your request.
